Hello, this is Tabimami.
Introducing a model plan for sightseeing in Dubrovnik.

Here are the must-see attractions when sightseeing in Dubrovnik!
・Walk around the old town
・Climbing the walls surrounding the old town
・Spectacular view from Mt. Surj! Adriatic sea and old town
・Beautiful beaches on the Adriatic Sea

If you can stay a little longer, please add this as an extra!
・Cruise to nearby islands
・Day trip to Split, Croatia’s second city, and Kotor in neighboring Montenegro

If you are staying for a short period of time, I think it would be best to stay near the old town, and if you are planning to stay for a longer period of time, it would be best to relax in an area a little further away.

Dubrovnik Itinerary 4 days

Day 1 Relaxing dinner on the first dinner

On the first day, you may be tired from the long journey, so take it easy. The first thing to do is to go to the old town and experience Dubrovnik to its fullest. It’s a city where you can have a lot of fun just walking around as you please.

Croatia is famous for its olive oil, wine, and truffles. Many restaurants offer truffle risotto, and it is very aromatic and delicious.
Popular beers in Croatia are Ozujsko and Karlovacko. I think most stores have it, so give it a try. It’s delicious!

Day 2 Climbing the wall & Summer festival

On the second day, we started climbing the castle wall! It’s very scenic and you can walk around the old town. There are many photo spots, so be sure to take a lot of memories.
Climbing the castle wall will take 1 to 2 hours if you walk leisurely and take photos. There are some narrow roads, so it may take longer during the busy summer months! ? One-way traffic goes counterclockwise. There are many stairs, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Also, there is nothing to block the sun on the castle walls, so don’t forget to take precautions against the heat.
There are several cafe bars on the south side of the castle wall, so it’s a good idea to take a break while walking. There are three entrances to the castle wall, but I think it’s best to enter from the Pile Gate entrance.

The summer wall ticket price is quite expensive at 35€ for adults and 15€ for children. The Dubrovnik Pass is a great deal for tourists as it includes tickets to the city walls and other museums. Unlimited bus rides are included in your ticket, so be sure to buy one on the day you enter the city walls. If you have a Dubrovnik Pass, you can also buy souvenirs at discounted prices at some selected souvenir shops.

Since it was hot, I thought climbing the castle walls would take away a lot of my stamina, so I decided to take it easy in the afternoon. Included in your Dubrovnik pass, visit museums, see churches, and stroll through the Old Town. (Please refer to the above website for details of the included facilities)
Since the bus ticket is included, we also recommend trying some craft beer at DBC (Dubrovnik Beer Campany), which is a little further away.

At night, head to the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, which is held every summer. This is a historic festival that will be held for the 75th time in 2024.

Concerts are held almost every day, and many of them are ticketed, but on Friday and Saturday nights there are free outdoor music events and outdoor cinemas. Most events start around 9pm, when the sun has set and the weather has cooled down, and Dubrovnik in the summer is lively until the evening.

Day 3 Mount Srd & Banje beach

On the third day, we went to Mt. Surj in the morning! There is a ropeway to the north of the old town that will take you to the top of Mt. Srdj. It is a scenic spot overlooking the old town and the Adriatic Sea, which is often used when introducing Dubrovnik. A must-see when you come to Dubrovnik!

There is a restaurant called Panorama Cafe at the top of the mountain, where you can enjoy your meal while looking out at the spectacular view. It is expected to be crowded in the summer, so we recommend making reservations as early as possible. It’s a beautiful view and will definitely become a great memory of your trip.
Sunset time is also beautiful, so please choose the time of your reservation according to your preference.

Mount Surj Ropeway
**Price** Adult round trip 27€, one way 15€/Children round trip 15€, one way xx€
*There is also a route that allows you to walk to the top of the mountain without taking the ropeway.
*Do you have a ticket in front of the ticket office? There are many people who will ask you something like this, so please be careful. I don’t know if he’s a bad person or not, but there’s no need to go out of your way to buy from him.

After Mount Srd, let’s go to Banje Beach. If you go by ropeway, you won’t be as tired, so you can enjoy the sea to your heart’s content. Banje Beach is located on the east side of the old town and can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot, and is a popular beach for tourists. The water is so clear that it is beautiful no matter what time you look at it. Please enjoy swimming in the sea.

Sunset Beach is also recommended, although it is a little far from the old town.

Also, if you want to go on a more active tour to Lokrum Island and Elaphiti Islands, or try kayaking instead of going to Banje Beach, use this day! Please note that if your tour departs from the port of Gruz, it is far from the old town. There are many tours departing from the old town’s port and near Pile Gate, so if you want to save time on travelling, we recommend these.
The sea on each island is truly beautiful, so it is highly recommended for those who like activities.

You can make advance reservations for local tours online, and there are many tour companies at the port of Dubrovnik, so I think it’s a good idea to ask directly about the tour details before making a reservation.

In the evening, you can go to a summer festival or stroll around the old town. The old town illuminated by orange lights at night is also beautiful.

Day 4 Looking for specialty souvenirs

On the last day, let’s look for souvenirs. Croatia’s specialties are truffles, wine, and olive oil, which can be bought at souvenir shops in the old town and at the airport, but also at supermarkets. Some souvenir shops in the old town will let you sample the product, so you can try it before purchasing.

Left) Manufacturer called KARLIC TARUFI. Among them, white truffle oil has a strong scent and is my favorite.
Middle) Ozujsko Christmas package. It usually comes in a red package.
Right) Rosé with Dubrovnik mark. It’s easy to drink and delicious.

There is also a Croatian chocolate maker called KRAS, which can be purchased at souvenir shops and supermarkets.

There are many shops in the old town selling souvenirs such as magnets and postcards. Shops one street down the street may have cheaper prices than the shops along the main street (Stradun), so be sure to compare.

Please take a walk with an ice cream in hand and leave lots of memories!

Finally

What did you think of the model plan? You can see all the famous places in the old town even if you stay for 3 nights and 4 days. The scenery is completely different from Japan, so you are sure to enjoy it even during your short stay.

If you can stay longer, why not go to Split, Croatia’s second largest city, or Kotor in neighboring Montenegro? Both are about 3 hours by car each way, and there are also day tours available from Dubrovnik.
You can fly from Dubrovnik to Bari in Italy in one hour, and there are also flights to many Western European cities, so it’s a good idea to plan your trip to include other countries.

Well, thank you for watching. I’m glad if you can use it as a reference.
